​미해군대학원(NPS)과 국방외국어기관(DLI)의 복음화

 2020 covid-19가 전세계에 퍼져 있을 때  이한근(임성은)집사, 선슬기(이혜정)집사, 이슬빛(김부윤)집사가 해군대학원에 유학와 몬트레이소망장로교회에서 예배를 드렸고, 2022년에는 대한민국 육군에서 방대한성도, 김세령성도가 함께 신앙생활을 하였습니다. 이렇게 시작된 인연은 선,후배의 연결로 현재까지 지속되고 있습니다. 우리교회는 어린아이들과 함께 유학온 젊은 부부들이 정착하고 나그네들에게 믿음의 예배 공동체로서 역활을 감당하고 있습니다. 더불어 해군대학원생들의 정착을 돕고 있습니다. 또한 2023년 부터 미육국, 미해군에 소속된 성도들이 공동체의 지체가 되어져 오고 있습니다. 2025년 현재는 미국 채플린 목사님부부와 이 지역에서 미해군으로 근무하고 있는 성도님도 그리스도의 지체로 자라가고 있습니다. 2020년 부터 2025년 현재까지 해군대학원에 유학온 성도들과 DLI에서 공부하고 있는 미군에 소속된 자랑스런 군인들을 섬길수 있어 감사합니다. 나그네를 섬기는 우리교회가 이 지역에 오는 그리스도인들에게 복음의 전하는 교회가 되길 소망합니다.

During the global spread of COVID-19 in 2020, Deacon Han-Geun Lee (Sung-Eun Lim), Deacon Seul-Gi Sun (Hye-Jung Lee), and Deacon Seul-Bit Lee (Boo-Yoon Kim) came to study at the Naval Postgraduate School and worshiped at Monterey Somang Presbyterian Church. In 2022, members Daesung Bang and Seryung Kim from the Korean Army also joined in fellowship.

What began as these early connections among fellow believers has continued to this day through bonds between seniors and juniors. Our church serves as a faith community for young couples studying abroad with their children, helping them settle and worship together as sojourners in faith. We also assist students from the Naval Postgraduate School as they adjust to life here.

Since 2023, members serving in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy have also become part of our community. As of 2025, a U.S. military chaplain and his wife, as well as church members currently serving in the U.S. Navy in this area, continue to grow together as members of the body of Christ.

We are thankful for the opportunity to serve believers who have come to study at the Naval Postgraduate School and the proud soldiers from the Defense Language Institute (DLI) who belong to the U.S. Armed Forces.

It is our earnest hope that our church, which serves sojourners, will continue to be a church that shares the Gospel with all Christians who come to this region.
